  A good penthouse night is a runsheet, not a free-for-all. Hotels and serviced apartments have their own house rules and most will say no to a show in the room; a privately hired penthouse or short-stay apartment is usually fine, but the building sits under body corporate rules. In Victoria, owners corporations can issue breach notices over noise and disruption in short-stay apartments, and NSW has a code of conduct covering guest behaviour under its short-term rental accommodation rules. None of that stops a private party. It just means keeping the music sensible, keeping it indoors, and not booking a ground-floor apartment with thin walls.
